TEACHING THE FAITH

"It provides all Bahá'ís with marvellous opportunities for awakening those around them to the great Day of God..." (Ridván 2019)

There are so many opportunities to share the Faith this season. There are so many ways to teach the Faith.

At the last 19 Day Feast a few nights ago, our dear friend gave us 3 teaching booklets:  2 Introduction to the Faith pamphlets and little sweet prayer book. Such a sweet gesture.  He encouraged us to "vie" with each other to share the "glad tidings of the nearness of God" with 3 others, by the next Feast!  He smiled.  Twinkled more like. But he really, really meant it.

We shared a lot of ideas at the Feast that night. And prayed using our new prayer books. Prayed pretty hard and strong. We consulted about teaching and how we are all needed in our own unique ways to love, strive, improve, shine and 'teach'.

This morning I saw one friend post on facebook:

"...devotional meetings infuse a new spirit into the life of a community." (Ridván 2019)

Wednesday Devotional Gathering - Please join us at 7:00 pm - ABC home, 1234 XYZ Street, Anytown. For questions, please call 987-654-3210.

"… the flourishing of the community, especially at the local level, demands a significant enhancement in patterns of behavior.… It involves the practice of collective worship of God. Hence, it is essential to the spiritual life of the community that the friends hold regular devotional meetings in local Bahá’í centres, where available, or elsewhere, including the homes of believers."
(The Universal House of Justice, Riḍván 1996 message to the Bahá’ís of the World)

What helps you teach and share the Faith with others? I'm grateful for the prayers revealed for us and that we say together and alone. What can we do for you through this Mine Rich in Gems platform?

One thing we're working on here is to create a "Floating Library" - books about the life of the Báb, including the Lionhearts Booklets, and many from Baha'i Bookstores, and go on homevisits to the children that are in some way involved with the institute process - through their attendance at the devotional gatherings, the children's classes, the junior youth groups or the youth study circles, or just friends and neighbors that we're meeting.  This will launch tomorrow on the Declaration of the Báb.  I need to go buy the green poly side opening string envelopes and create the stickers and print off several sets of the 4 Lionhearts booklets.  The other books have arrived and are on my dining room table.

Love, Christi
